New Item: Mya & Anne Wedding Invitation Suite  Comments ( 0 )

So these designs have been up on the website for about a week now – but lets just call them new. I hope that doesn’t bother you.

Both the Mya and Anne wedding suite are available in three different formats: flat print, letterpress and DIY printable. Other pieces are available for both suites.

I debuted these pieces in a wedding show I attended and received many sweet compliments. I hope you all love them as much as I do.

First Ever Wedding Show!  Comments ( 0 )

I am excited to announce that Lovely Paperie by Meli will be attending its very first Wedding Show on March 20th! Yes, it will be our first and this is pretty nerve wrecking and exciting. We want to make sure we do it right. For about a month now I have been debating on how to present the invitations and paper goods that we have to offer. Even some new designs will be showcased at the Wedding Show.

Besides this being a totally awesome (and fun) experience I am a bit in freak out mode. So in case any weddings pros are out there reading today’s post – I would love to hear about your experience at wedding shows and any tips you may have to offer.

And for all you Miami-area brides, if interested in attending the show contact me or you can also directly contact the FIU Kovens Center for more information.

I hope to see some of you out there.

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

new and improved  Comments ( 1 )

Hi there lovelies! Today I am thrilled to announce some new changes on the Lovely Paperie by Meli website. I’ve been working on these things for the past couple of months and it’s been hard to keep this a secret.

Now I can finally speak out and fill you all in.

First – I have launched an entire line of personal stationery sets. Ten new fun and funky designs have been developed especially for you! Want even more exciting news? Each stationery set is only $12.00 – pretty awesome right?

(You can see the new stationery line here: Personal Stationery)

The second exciting piece of information, which some of you may have already seen- Lovely Paperie by Meli has gone through a face-lift. No, not one of those cheesy face-lifts that make you look older than you originally did, a nice and fresh face-lift that brings more personality.

(See the new homepage: Home)

I hope you all enjoy navigating through the new and improved Lovely Paperie by Meli website. Oh, and feedback is greatly appreciated – whether you love it or hate it, find glitches, or just see room for improvement feel free to email mail or tweet me!

Have a lovely day.

being thankful  Comments ( 0 )

On a daily basis we somewhat forget about all the good around us. We complain about so many petty little things that we start to feel that we have nothing to be thankful about – but we are all wrong. There is so MUCH to be grateful for and we must never forget that and always appreciate it. What am I thankful for? Well here is a few things…

1. Having such a loving, caring, and hilarious husband. :)

2. Family and Friends that are always there to encourage me whenever I am down.

3. Health and Life!

4. The ability to express my thoughts and opinions and not be penalized.

These are just a few of the things I am thankful for. That is the list of what I feel is most important – but I am also thankful for things such as delicious Starbucks coffee, such great followers on Twitter, NetFlix, awesome bloggers that entertain me daily and oh so much more!

Today most of you are preparing your delicious Thanksgiving dinner in advance but I will just be making cupcakes that look like little stuffed turkeys. As we have a tiny little home and a HUGE family we opt out from the cooking and attend 3 (yes 3) family Thanksgiving dinners. How do you we do it? I am not exactly sure but we somehow avoid slipping into a Turkey Coma. And many of you ask “Well why don’t you just say you are too full to eat?” Well because either situation will happen:

1. Get the guilt trip and entire speech on how we ate at every other house except this one (never good)

or the more dangerous outcome…

2. Get stabbed with the turkey knife for causing such insult

Basically, eating is mandatory – and with such great food its pretty hard to say no! ;)

I would love to hear about your plans and what you are thankful for! Have a safe and fun Thanksgiving with your loved ones.

giving back to others: toys for tots  Comments ( 0 )

A couple years back (actually more than a couple) in high school I was part of FBLA (yes I have always been geeky). Every year around Christmas we would set up a collection for toys. We would spread the news to our classmates, make banners to hang around the school, and head out to the stores and pick out a few toys to donate to different charities such as Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Doing this simple act always made me feel so fuzzy and warm inside that I continued doing it after graduating.

Usually you can head out to a mall or find a drop off location and take some toys that will make a couple children smile on Christmas morning. I normally just donate a few toys that I buy but this year I am planning on doing something extra special and I hope you all will help spread the word. :)

Starting from today – I will be donating $1.00 for every set of Lovely Paperie notecards or Holiday gift tags purchased before December 15, 2010.

You can find the items on my Website’s Shop or Etsy Shop.

Metallic Christmas Tags

Custom orders are also available – and for those I will be donating 10% of the total sale. So lets get to it and make some youngsters dream come true on Christmas morning. :)

invitations on the telly  Comments ( 0 )

A few weeks ago I came across a tweet by Susan Southerland regarding wedding invitations for a TV segment that she was preparing for. I took that opportunity and sent her some information and just like that we connected and my Isabella Invitation (in letterpress and digital) was lucky enough to be featured in her segment. How exciting right? When Susan sent me the video and I was totally psyched! Its pretty exciting that something I designed and created was actually TV worthy.

And of course I would like to give a special thanks to Susan for making this happen!

So with this extra confidence boost the rest of my designs are ready for some more air time! Anyone interested? ;)

something to look at: 5  Comments ( 0 )

A few weeks ago I was watching one of my favorite movies – Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I don’t get to watch it often because of The Hubby is not much of a fan but whenever there is a chance I love watching Holly Golightly standing in front of the beautiful building where Tiffany’s is located.

This summer when we went to NYC The Hubby surprised me by taking me to Tiffany’s and bought me a little gift and while I was in the store I felt exactly like Holly did when Paul took her into her favorite place in the world. It was perfect. I now have the box sitting on my desk and decided to create something that symbolized this iconic little blue box.

I would now like to present to you – the Tiffany Wedding Invitation Suite:

Invitation + RSVP Card + Reception Card + Lodging Card neatly tucked in a pocketfold.

An added crystal on the invitation gives it a touch of class and sophistication just like Audrey Hepburn did on Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Pocketfold can be neatly close with a rhinestone buckle (available in different sizes and shapes) with a satin ribbon just like at Tiffany’s.

This design is available in many different styles to fit every wedding and budget. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed designing and creating these pieces.

The best part of this – I am offering free RSVP cards when you place an order for the Tiffany Invitation Suite which is also available in letterpress. Valid until the end of November.

your’re late for tea!  Comments ( 0 )

For the past couple of weeks I was secretly planning a surprise tea party for the fabulous Cynthia. We both always fantasize about extravagant masquerade balls and tea parties so I decided for her 24th birthday to give her a tea party (extravagant masquerade balls are a tad bit out of my budget).

Throughout the entire planning process I was dying to tweet away about all the preparations but obviously that couldn’t be done because she is too good of a friend and actually reads my tweets and blog posts (Thanks Cynthia!).

I prepared the menus and place cards then stained them with tea bags to give it a vintage effect. Also did some bunting banners and little “Eat Me” flags for the food and sweets, very Alice in Wonderland.

Mason jars were set up by yours truly and the flowers did not quickly wither to its death which usually happens (due to my brown thumb). So that was a good sign! Best part – they are still alive and decorating my desk very nicely.

I am a bit ashamed to admit that I bought the cookies to avoid more craziness throughout the setting up process – but I did bake the cupcakes and prepared delicious tea sandwiches (Chicken Almond, Ham & Parmesan Cheese, Cucumber & Mint) which were a total hit!

Of course we sipped on some delicious teas and played a few rounds of croquette. It turned out to be a lovely day with no humidity (a miracle here in Miami), breezy, and filled with fun. Throughout the tea party we forgot to take many pictures and unfortunately we didn’t get a nice group snap shot – but the memories will be there.

Have any of you out there done a tea party or some other themed party for someone special? If so – I would love to hear about it!
